Spreydon Church Service. The morning service yesterday at St Martin’s Anglican .Church, Lincoln Road, Spreydon, was well attended. Bishop West-Watson gave the sermon and took for his subject “ Charity as extolled by St Paul in the Epistle to the Corinthians. The bishop visited Sunnyside Mental Hospital in the morning, and preached at St Mary s, Haiowell, in the evening. Social at St Ninian’s. The young people of St Ninian s Presbyterian congregation were entertained on Saturday evening by the junior men’s Bible class. The schoolroom was well filled. Mr B. C. Dowling was in charge, and kept the fun going with games and competitions. Dance at Woolston. The Woolston Public Library Committee held a successful dance in the Druids’ Hall on Saturday evening. Novelty dances resulted: Lucky spot foxtrot, Mrs Hudson and Mr Inds; Monte Carlo one-step, Miss Page and Mr C. Linguard. Mr C. White’s orchestra supplied the music for the dancing, and Mr W. Cooper and Mr J. Melhuish were M.C.’s.
