TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.
Mrs P. R. Woodhouse (Bluecliffs) is the guest of her mother Mrs R. H. Rhodes (“Came,” Sealy Street). Miss Mary White has arrived from Christchurch to spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs Wilfrid White (“Summerhill,” Levels). Mrs Herbert Elworthy (“Craigmore”) will leave to-day to be the guest of her daughter, Mrs A. P. White, Hawke’s Bay). Mr and Mrs Maurice Harper and Miss Betty Harper (Waitawa), who have been visiting Christchurch, motored home yesterday. Mrs T. Northcote (“The Doone,” Waiau) has arrived to stay with her mother, Mrs Arthur Hope (“Tumanako.”) Mrs W. N. Bond (“Dunrobin”), who has been the guest of Miss M. Cotterill (Christchurch), is expected home todav. Miss Meg Loughnan (“Burrabogie,” Fairlie), will be the guest of Mrs Simon Mackenzie (“Otumarama”) for the Tripp-Orbell wedding to-morrow. Mr and Mrs S. Chaffey (“Mount Possession”) will be the guest of Mr and Mrs W. T. Ritchie (“Te Tawa”) for the Tripp-Orbell wedding. Miss Orbell (Christchurch) will arrive to-day to be the guest of Mrs N. M. Orbell (Bidwell Street) for the TrippOrbell wedding. Mrs Symes (England), who has been spending some days with Mrs Gladstone Robinson (“Oakwood”), has left to stay with friends in North Canterbury. Miss Joyce Edgar Jones (“Otiritiri”), who has been staying with Miss Helen Rich (Christchurch), has left to stay with her brother Mr G. Edgar Jones (Waiau). Miss Dorothy Raymond (Nile Street) has arrived from Christchurch to spend the vacation with her parents. Mr and Mrs William Raymond (Nile Street). Mrs W. FI. Helmore and Miss Elena Helmore (“Koromiko”), who have been the guests of Mrs Gerald Bowen (Christchurch) will return home today. Mrs Alan Orbell and the Misses Loraine and Peggy Orbell (Waikouaiti), who have been staying in Christchurch will arrive to-day for the Tripp-Orbell wedding. Miss K. Ormond (Hawke’s Bay) and Miss Evelyn Pinckney (“Glenaray”), will be the guests of Mr and Mrs F. J. Rolleston (LeCren’s Terrace) for the Tripp-Orbell wedding. Mrs Huyshe Eliot (England), who has been spending the winter months with her sister Mrs B. H. Tripp (“Orielton”). will leave to-day to stay with M” nnd Mrs George H. Eliot (Roxburgh). Creaghe (Queensland), who has been visiting Southland, Dunedin and Oamaru, arrived at Timaru on Saturday to be the guest of Mrs A. A. Scott (Bidwell Street) before returning to Australia.
