The N.Z. Team.

To thte Editor. Dear Sir, —With the retirement of many of the older Rugby players at the end of last season, there is an opportunity for some of the younger blood to be given a chance against the Australians in the test at Auckland. It is to be hoped that the two New Zealand selectors will not repeat the mistake of last season and choose the “ old brigade ” for All Blacks. Youth and dash are needed against the Australians. and therefore I suggest the following as the New Zealand team: Full-back: Bush. Three-quarters: Hart. Ruru. Geddcs. Five-eighths: C. J. Oliver, Lilburne. Half-back: Strang. Wing-forward: Solomon. Hookers: Hadley, Cottrell. Lock: Max. Supports: M'Lean, M’Neight. Back row: Batty, Manchester. A year or two ago, and even now, anyone who suggested that there could be a New Zealand team without Cooke and Nicholls would lie looked upon as something of a museum curiosity. If the selectors put them out, it will require, some courage on their part, for these two men, undoubtedly among the world's best in their heyday, still have great reputations and are very useful on the field. But the old order changeth, or should. Ruru did not play in the North v South Island game, but is worth a place. Andrews played well, but Solomon has the experience as a wingforward.—l am, etc., RUGBY FOLLOWER.
