FARMER ESCAPES DEATH.

Broken Power Line Kills Dog and Cow. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND. August 14. A narrow escape from death was experienced by Mr O. Cowan, a Hinuera farmer. Just before daylight he went for his cows and saw one lying down A dog which went to heel the cow dropped dead. Mr Cowan realised in time that the cow also was dead, having been electrocuted through a broken power line. The occurrence took place in an open paddock clear of fences.
