COMEDY FOR MAJESTIC.
” Three Girls Lost ” will be screened at the Majestic Theatre for the. last time to-night. , . , Humour of the most Infectious kind has been cleverly combined with a serious theme in “ Six Cylinder Love, which will begin on Monday at the Majestic. The director, Thornton Freeland. has contrived to teach a sensible lesson, without in any way impairing the generally bright atmosphere and the rapid action of the picture. Lorin Raker, as an indulgent young husband who sees the folly of his ways, but has not the heart to thwart h:s wife’s slightest wish, is a very human figure, while Miss Sidney Fox is well suited to the role of the charming, but distinctly thoughtless, bride. Edward Everett Horton has a part, that of an unattached young man with an almost uncanny skill in making other people pay for his expensive pleasures. spencer Tracy is a high-pressure salesman, while El* Brendel, the clever comedian whose'acting was a great success in many outstanding films, is as a simple-looking but sharp-witted janitor. The story opens in the home of the newly-wed couple, a sharp contrast to t ha* of an older couple living next door. The older husband manages, with the aid of a salesmari, to dispose of his expensive sports car to the younger man, whose wife has persuaded him to buy it. The purchase is the first of many expenses to which the young husband is put. and lie, too, ultimately finds himself in debt, and appropriates some funds to pay. The remainder of the film is occupied with his efforts to reestablish himself, but in spite of the misfortunes of the youth, many amusing scenes are introduced. Box plans are at The Bristol.
