REEFTON DISTRICT SCHOOL
(Special to the “ Star.”) REEFTON, August 14 Mr W. B. Auld presided at the monthly meeting of the School Committee, Messrs H. Campbell, C. Potter. D. Pankhurst, J. Patterson, C. Cleaver, C. Dobson and Rev Parsons being present. An urology for absence was received from Mr N. Lawn. Correspondence was received from the Education Board in reply to a request from the committee to adhere to the original plan for the new school building. The secretary reported that the minor repairs to doors, stove pipes and floors had been attended to. The headmaster reported hat the roll number was 250 (secondarv department 45, primary department 205). The average attendance was low on account of the bad weather experiencd during the past month. The school had been visited during the month bv Mr Johnston, Agricultural Instructor, and Messrs Griffin and Overton had just completed their annual inspection. The term examinations had been completed and very satisfactory progress had been made. Arrangements were well in hand for the fancy dress ball. Messrs C. Potter and J. Patterson were appointed a visiting committee.
