RABBIT FARMING FOR PROFIT.

(BY

“LAPIN.”)

,L—----SECOND ANNUAL SHOW. The officers of the Canterbury Rabbit Breeders’ Association are to be congratulated on the success of their second annual show, which commenced at the Winter Show last Saturday. To organise a rabbit show lasting for two weeks was an ambitious undertaking, but so far the show has been a decided success and the association’s efforts will undoubtedly be rewarded. Great credit is due to Mr A. Lawrence, the show secretary, for the complete arrangements made. Entries were very gratifying, there being over 3 00 rabbits benched. In addition, considerable interest has been aroused hv the inclusion of a class for sports, and some beautiful rabbits were benched in this section. The most pleasing feature of the show is the fine display of Chinchilla furs and Angora garments. Indeed, it is understood that this is the first opportunity New Zealanders have had of seeing such a range of beautiful wearing apparel actually manufactured from real Angora rabbit wool. [ The judge for the rabbit section was r Miss A. A. Myers (Feilding), and judges for the manufactured garments were

Misses L. and E. Wilson. The final j amended awards are as follows: Chinchillas. j Registered stud buck (4)—A. Law- ! fence 1 and 2, Avenel Farm 3. Registered stud doe (4)—Avenel Farm 1 and j 3, A.
