EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting of the East Christchurch District School Committee was held on Tuesday; present—Messrs S. Baird (chairman), H. S. Brewer W. M. Campbell, S. J. Green, B. A. King, W. A. Mann. A. T. Stokes, Mesdames L Gillespie and E. Peareau. The head master (Mr C. G. M. Boyce) reported that the roll number was 635, with an average attendance of 90 per cent. A concert in aid of the school funds had been arranged by the staff to be held in the Choral Hall on Thursday, August 20. Mr \V. Campbell was elected to fill a vacancy on the committee. Messrs Green and King were appointed a visiting committee.
