PRESENTATIONS.
Miss Jessie Gerrand and Miss Eileen Sherrard were guests of honour at a special social given by the ladies of the Sumner W.E.A. at the residence of Miss Prosser. Miss Gerrand is shortly to be married to Mr C. Sherrard and Miss Sherrard is leaving Sumner to take up nursing in the Palmerston Hospital. Presentations were made to both guests of honour. The programme included songs by Mesdames J. C. Cornes and J. Langdale and Miss M’Donald, a piano duet by Misses Prosser and Hutchinson; piano solo by Mrs Morrison, and a short play, “ Legend of the Sea,” by Misses Prosser, Kilner and Gates. A competition was won by Miss KilThose present were: Mesdames C. Benjamin, Cornes, J. Langdale, Hutchinson, Jobberns, Fountain Barber, Morrison, Henderson, Craigie, Walker, Fechney and Twomey. Misses Gates, Kilner, Prosser, Jones, Rhodes, Sherrard, N. Watson, E. Barber, Gerrand, Willet, M’Donald, Mills, Brown and Andrews.
