Lyttelton Club Holds 14-Mile Race. The Lyttelton Professional Cycling Club held a fourteen-mile road race this afternoon from Lyttelton to Governor’s Bay and back. The weather was fire for racing but the condition of the roads was bad. Results:— E. A. M’Caskell (75sec) 1 W. K. Weir (scr) 2 F. Hart (2min) 3 Fastest time unplaced was put up by T. Griffiths. Unregistered Riders Compete this Afternoon. The twenty-mile cycle race held to-day for unregistered riders attracted thirty-one starters. The limit men, S. Hall and S. Vogan, were receiving a start of 6Jmin from the scratch riders, J. Sutherland. D. Aitken and W. Rhodes. The race resulted in a narrow win for J. Aston, with H. Wild second and D. Shaw, half a length away, third. D. Swanston scored fastest time off 2Jmin, beating bis co-marker, R. Suthland. by inches in the run for the line. Results:— J. Aston (4?,min), time 54min lOsec 1 H.
