There was a misadventure at Parliament House on Wednesday. Mr H. Holland. M.P., told those who attended the Greencourts Carnival at the Caledonian Hall last evening, in explaining how he nearly missed the ferry steamer. When the House rose on YVednesday, he said, there was a deputation waiting and he did not get awav until late. He and five others got into a lift to descend to the ground floor. Some wanted to get out half-way so they stopped the lift. YY’hen the door was closed again the lift began to go up and someone pressed the stop button. The lift stopped, and afterwards refused to move. They had to get a bar and force the door, with a drop of six feet to the floor. But for this they might have had to stay there until assistance was brought.
