PIGEON FLYING.
The Kalapoi Racing Pigeon Society held its first annual meeting In their club rooms on Wednesday evening, Mr w. M’Partlin presiding over a good attendance of members. The report stated that the society had made excellent progress in its first season and was in a satisfactory financial position. It was expected that some good racing would take place during the coming season, which would commence in about a month’s time. The committee extended its thanks to those who had donated trophies and to those who had assisted the club during the past season. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr W. M’Partlin; vice-president, Mr J. Anderson; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Gray; assistant secretary, Mr L. Taylor: committee, Messrs H. Green. J. Anderson, A. Burnip and L,. Morris: clock committee, Messrs L. Taylor, J. Revell and J. Anderson. It was decided that the society should hold meetings every alternate Thursday during the season.
