of the best motor drives in the city. It was decided to write to the council expressing appreciation of the work that had been done. In an attempt to foster interest in the association it was decided to call a public meeting for September 10. It was pointed out that many improvements had been effected in the district through the efforts of the association. This fact was generally recognised, but interest in the association itself was lacking. The chairman stated that he had received many complaints regarding the state of Tilford Street. It was said that it was the worst street in Woolston. The attention of the council should be drawn to the matter.’ The broadsiding season would begin in a few months, and the residents would have the clouds of dust which were raised by motor-cars to contend with.
