Mr and Mrs H. V. Searle (Nelson) are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Miss Elizabeth Atkinson is a Wellington visitor to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs J. H. Fowler, of Dunedin, are on a visit to Auckland. Miss L. Richardson, Christchurch, is paying a visit to Auckland. Mr and Mrs Redmond Neill, “ Barossa ”, who have been staying in Christchurch, have returned home. Mrs Arthur Grigg, Surrey Hills, is staying with her mother, Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson, Cashmere. Misses Cecil and Elizabeth Elworthy, Timaru, returned home yesterday from a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs N. Forman, Wairarapa, and Mr and Mrs Atkinson, Lowry Bay, are staying with Mrs C. L. Dearsley, Helmore’s Road, Fendalton. Mrs C. J. Ball has been re-elected as a woman member to represent parents of pupils on the Technical College Board of Governors. Recent arrivals at the Hotel Federal include: —Mrs M. G. Symons (England), Mr H. A. Edgington (Lincoln College), Mr W. J. Allan (Rotherham). Mr and Mrs A. S. Fleming (Gore), Mr C. B. Trimnell, Miss V. Trimnell and Mr and Mrs Julian B. Foster (Wellington) are guests at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Bavin, Sydney, wife of the Hon T. R. Bavin, formerly Premier of New South Wales and now Leader of the Opposition in the New South Wales Assembly, arrived in Auckland by the Monowai and left yesterday by the Port Fremantle in continuation of her trip to England, accompanied by Miss V. Bavin. Mrs David Nathan (Auckland), who had been elected delegate to represent New Zealand at the 17th Zionist Congress, now in progress at Basle, was unfortunately prevented by indisposition from leaving London, says a correspondent. Mrs Nathan’s place has been taken by Dr Alexander Goldstein, who visited New Zealand a few years ago on behalf of the Palestine Foundation Fund. There are 250 delegates at the conference, and it is expected that 2000 visitors from all parts of the world will be present. _________________-
