FARADAY CENTENARY.

Governor-General Pays Tribute to Science. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 13. The centenary of the discovery of electro-magnetic induction by Faraday was celebrated by a dinner attended by reoresentatives of scientific and industrial interests. A letter was read from the GovernorGeneral stating: “As a humble worshipper at the shrine of Michael Farads" and as an intense admirer of the work of the Royal Institution, I shall be with you in spirit and sympathy at to-night's memorial dinner. The one great dominant force in the world today is science. To its manifold revelations no progressive nation can afford to be indifferent.”
