Papanui Club to Hold Big Event. The following teams have entered for the Papanui Sports Club's time trial to be run over a fifty-mile course on Saturday next, starting from the Papanui Hotel at 2 p.m. The course will be from Papanui to Kaiapoi, Wood end, Waikuku and Saltwater Creek, taking the first turning to the left, thence through Sefton-Ashley. turning to the left over the Ashley Bridge to Rangiora, and returning to Pu pan ui over the usual course via the Drain Road. Regarding objections made by tie lust executive meeting in regard to the charge of 5s per child per year fo« dental treatment in school clinics, it was reported that a letter had been sent to •ue Minister of Education, set tins forth these objections, as the scheme had originally been intended to giv<free denial service, (hat there was sumo question about the actual administration, and the collection of charges. The Minister replied in regard to the suggested imposition of Increased financial responsibility on the school committees in the running of dental clinic.-, that the points raised at the executive meeting were receiving the attention of the Department. He pointed out that a circular had been sent out to all school committees stating that “it is hoped that with the return to prosperity of our country the position can then be reviewed.” The expenses incurred in the running of clinics varied considerably, and it was considered that it would i»p in the Interests of committees generally to decide what charge should be made. Such charges must not exceed 5s per child per year. The letter was received.
