TRAINING DISABLED MEN.

£SOOO Required Before the Government Acts. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 12 To enable the Disabled Soldiers’ Reestablishment Bill to be put into opera- , tion, the Government has requested that £SOOO be made available by the interested parties before it takes action. The Canteens Trust Board has agreed to find £2OOO, the War Funds Council to provide £ISOO, and the Red Cross Society throughout New Zealand has been asked to provide £ISOO. At a meeting of the executive of the Wel- | lington branch of the Red Cross Soci-

ety, it was unanimously agreed that the branch contribute its proportionate share towards the sum required. The Canterbury, Auckland and Otago branches are still considering the proposal. The Bill provides for facilities being provided for the vocational training of disabled and partially disabled soldiers so that they can supplement their pensions.
