POLICE SUSPICIOUS.
“Man may be Connected with Day’s Bay Hold-up.” MECHANIC BEFORE COURT. Per Press Association. MASTERTON, August 12. “ Accused might be connected with the hold-up at Day’s Bay service station, ■’ said Sergeant T. H. Dyer when asking in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for a remand in a case in which George Henry Ellis, aged twentythree, mechanic, of Wellington, was charged with obtaining four gallons of petrol in Masterton by representing that he was employed by a Wellington service station. The sergeant said accused had made a statement regarding his movements in Wellington which the police wished to verify. He was remanded to appear at Masterton on August 19.
