Inspection by Railway Board Members. AT PARNASSUS TO-DAY. Mr 11. H. Sterling, General Manager of the Railways, and Messrs D. Reese and G. W. Reid, the South Island meml>ers of the Railway Board, arrived from Wellington this morning and proceeded to Parnassus for a brief inspection of the progress of the construction of the South Island Main Trunk railway line. It is understood that they intend proceeding to the West Coast before returning to Wellington. An inspection of the railwaj’ - works was made by all the members of the Railway Board some time ago with a view to making a report on the line for presentation to Parliament during the present session. No intimation has yet been given regarding the nature of the report or when it will be issued.
