Young Batsmen Given Trial by Selectors. LONDON, August 10. The omission of Tate from the test team to play New Zealand at Manchester on August 15 robs the side of a first-class stock bowler. Brown’s form was so promising at the Oval as to suggest dropping Peebles for Larwood. The selectors are probably satisfied with Bakewell’s show ing and have decided to try another young batsman.
