YOUNG MAN STOLE 6/-.
Took Money from Clothing of Girls at Sumner. Patrick Emmett Mino*»hue * baVe*aged 19, of 19, Bury Street, Sumner, admitted the theft of 6s trom gins clothing on the Cave Rock, Sumner, when he appeared before Mr 11. A. Young, S.M., to-day. Accused was remanded until Friday. Minoghue pleaded guilty to the theft of ss, the property of Ethel Fairthorne, and Is, the property of Kathleen Foley.
Senior-Sergeant Fox said that yesterday the young ladies went to Sumnei to spend the day. They left some clothing behind when climbing Cave Rock, and the money was then stolen The accused was arrested and admitted the offences. It was ascertained that there was another offence which would be charged against the accused, and a short remand would be required. Mr Young (to accused): You have no objection to a remand?—Eh? After a subdued conversation with an orderly, the accused announced that the Magistrate could please himself on the question of a remand.
