Indications are that lambing will be well forward in Canterbury this year. In North Canterbury yesterday the number of two and three-day-old lambs was very noticeable, and all appeared to be in splendid condition. Lambs have been offering in small numbers at the Addington sales for some time and probably there will be greatly increased entries from now on. Speaking at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association last evening, Mr W. Hayward said that if, as had been suggested, they were split up into district committees, the expense would be very much greater than at present, and there would be a complete lack of uniformity throughout New Zealand.
