Mr and Mrs T. E. James are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Mrs J. Chivers, Chris tchurch, is visiting Auckland. Mrs F. J. Savill (Hanmer Springs), is staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Fordham, Wellington, is the guest of her sister, Mrs Cecil Wood, Armagh Street. Mr and Mrs Angus M’Kay and Mr and Mrs F. Denhem, Wharanui, are visiting Christchurch for race week. Mrs G. W. Morrison (Timaru) and Miss M. M’Gregor (Mount Linton) are guests at the Clarendon Hotel. Mrs Fell (Blenheim), who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs A. Hayhurst, Temuka, has returned home. Mrs Sandilands (Wellington), and Mr and Mrs G. L. Rutherford (Connemara) are guests at Warner’s Hotel. Mr and Mrs Marmaduke Bethell, Pahau Pastures, are staying with Mrs Charles Reid, Merivale Lane. Mrs Victor Mulligan is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. C. Clarkson, Riccarton. Mrs M’Keown, Timaru, is staying with her mother, Mrs C. Atkinson, Cashmere Hills, for race week. Miss Elizabeth Elworthy, Claremont, is the guest of Miss Agatha Uphain, Gloucester Street West. Miss Sheila Atkinson, Hanmer Springs, is the guest of Miss Elizabeth Tipping, Opawa. Mr and Mrs A. Harrison, Christchurch, who have been on a visit to Miss Harrison, Temuka, have returned to the city. Mrs B. C. Rutherford will leave on Saturday by the Rangitata for a trip to Great Britain, the Continent, and the United States of America. Among the guests at the Royal Hotel are: Mr and Mrs T. A. Stuart (Auckland), Mr and Mrs C. E. Fleming (Fairlie) and Miss Fleming. Mr and Mrs J. A. Todd (Wanganui), Mr and Mrs R. J. Murphy, Mr and Mrs W. Gregory, Misses M. C. Fryer, L. Wilson and G. G. Wilson arrived from the north yesterday morning. Mr Vivian Riddiford and Miss Pamela Riddiford, who have been for a holiday visit to. Honolulu, returned to Auckland on Monday by the Niagara.
