THEFT OF GOODS ALLEGED

Ernest Couper Smith, of Aikman’s Road, manager, aged forty-five, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., charged with stealing, on April 15, goods to the value of £SOO, the property of Maling and Co. Mr Reed appeared for the accused. In asking for a further remand for a fortnight, Chief-Detective Carroll said that there was a great deal of further investigation to be made. Bail was allowed in self £250 and one surety of £250, it being made a condition that the accused should report every second day to the detective office.
