All Defendants In Mangana Action Apply For Non-Suits.

(United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received August 11. 11 a.m.) BRISBANE, August 11. Evidence for the Crown is now completed in the Mungana case; in which the Crown seeks to recover damages from Edward Granville Theodore, 'William M’Cormack, Peter Louis Goddard and Frederick Reid, for alleged “ conspiracy causing damage to the estate of our Lord the King,” with certain alternatives. Applications for non-suits were made on behalf of all defendants. Argument will be resumed to-day.

The claim is as follows: 1. (a) Damages for conspiracy causing damage to the estate of our said Lord the King or in the alternative (b) Damages for that the Frederick Reid, William M’Cormack and Edward Granville Theodore agreed to give and did give to the defendant Peter Louis Goddard, the agent and servant of our Lord the King, and the said Peter Louis Goddard as such agent and servant as aforesaid agreed to take and did take a certain benefit in the consideration of the said Peter Louis Goddard as such agent and servant as aforesaid recommending or procuring the purchase by our said Lord the King of certain mines at Mungana, in the State of Queensland, known as the Lady Jane and the Girofla, so that the defendants thereby procured the purchase of the said mines in fraud of our said Lord the King.

Or, in the further alternative, 2. As against the defendants William M’Cormack and Edward Granville Theodore for (a) An account of all profits made by them and each of them from or in connection with the said purchase of the said mines as the agents of our said Lord the King and in breach of their duty as such agents. (b) Payment of the amount found due on the taking of the said account. Or, in the alternative, (c) Damages for breach of duty as such agents or agent as aforesaid. Or, in the further alternative, 3. As against the defendants, William M’Cormack and Edward Granville Theodore, damages for conversion. Messrs Theodore and M’CormacJc are both former Labour Premiers of Queensland.
