A recommendation to the local bodies concerned that they should bear proportionately the cost of erection of conveniences at the tram terminus on Cashmere Hills was adopted at a recent conference. A report on the question presented to the City Council last evening by the Finance Committee, stated that representatives from the Tramway Board, the Heathcote County Council, the Summit Road Trust and the committee met recently to discuss the question of making provision for conveniences for both sexes at the tram terminus After some discussion a suitable site was chosen, and the proportions were decided on as fallows:— Heathcote County Council £SO. plus cost of water and sewer connections.
