WINTER SPORTS.

Mount Cheeseman Meeting. Thirty members of the Canterbury Winter Sports Club and a number of visitors travelled to Mount Cheeseman over the week-end. when it was proposed to hold the elub’s championship meeting:. Three days of high temperatures, however, made snow conditions unsuitable for championship events and the meeting: was postponed. There was plenty of snow and both the skating: rink and the toboggan run were in excellent condition. A good improved during the afternoon and a slalom was run, the prize being a pair of ski sticks presented by the Mount Cook Motor Co Twenty-seven comoetitors started in the slalom. Mr Miles Actor. Adams winning in 48sec. Mr Wallace Wade was second. The women’s section was won by Miss C. O’Rorke. The visitors, who included members of the Christchurch Ski Club, were welcomed to the sports grounds by Mr Winter Sports Club. Dr Cordon Rich replied
