Letter of Congratulations. A letter from the secretary of the Otago Labour Representation Committee stating that he had been instructed by the committee to convey its hearty congratulations to the council for its genuine support of the principle of paying standard rates of pay on relief works and also for its reduction of rates policy was received at the meeting of the City Council last evening. ‘‘ This is a very welcome letter. The kind we like to get,” said the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.). “ Hear, hear,” from Councillor J. K. Archer.
