FRUITGROWERS’ SOCIAL.

All market fluctuations, and vagaries of the weather were forgotten when members of the Christchurch Tomato and Stone Fruit Growers’ Association, the Canterbury Fruit Growers’ Association and Auctioneers and their friends met together at an enjoyable social and dance at Dixieland last night. Items were given by Misses Elsie Billson (song), Thelma Cusack (humorous recitation), Messrs Jock Lockhart (Scotch humour) and Dave M’Gill (songs). Music was supplied by Maisie Ottey’s Orchestra. The committee responsible for the arrangements consisted of Messrs H. Firman (honorary secretary), C. E. Pope, A. Bloxham, H. Rushworth, W. Buckton, H. T. Falla and F. Cusack (Christchurch Tomato and Stone Fruit Growers’ Association), G. Billson, E. Freeman, S. W. Sisson (Canterbury Fruit Growers’ Association), and D. Park and D. M’Farlane (auctioneers). Mr D.
