THOUSANDS LEAVE UNITED STATES.
STRESS OF ECONOMIC CONDITIONS APPARENT. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received August 10, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 9. For every two incoming immigrants, three people are leaving America’s shores permanently, being either deported or induced by economic reasons to return to European or other countries. The deportations alone from New York during the past twelve months reached 19,000. One Italian liner left New York to-day with 1100 third-class passengers, mostly Italian families being sent home by their bread-winners to live cheaper in Italy.
