Christchurch is noted for the orderliness of its crowds, and the visitor to the Winter Show on Saturday would have agreed that the reputation is not without foundation. There were several jDolice constables on duty, but theirs was an easy task, their official position not taxing their time to the extent of preventing them from going right round the exhibits. The people were packed fairly tightly on one or two occasions, when the attractions of a particular stall or side-show appealed to many at the same time, but there was no jostling and general good humour prevailed.
