AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “ Star.") AUCKLAND, August 0. At fresh bidding this morning, there was very little animation and only a moderate inquiry in the banking section. Commercials were definitely easier, and there were sellers at 13s 9d, with 13s the best buying offer. New South Wales and New Zealands were steady, with buyers at £24 5s and £2 8s 3d respectively. Interest in Moturoa Oils continues, and a sale was made at 5s 3d, after which holders asked 5s 6d. Taranaki Oils were available at Is 6d. Thera has been a decided drop in King Solomons, and after a sale at 2s 3d there were more ottering at 2s 2d. Tax free bonds were again asked for at par. A parcel was offered at £IOO 15s, and one of inscribed at £IOO 7s 7d. For 51 per cents (3937) £99 12s 6d was bid, and 2s 6d less for inscribed stock. OTHES SZCSAVOBB. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Christchurch, have received a cablegram from their London offices giving the following information, under date August s;—New Zealand dairy produce; Butter, 110 s. The market is steady hut quiet. Cheese: No change in quotation. NEW ZEALAND APPLES. The New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation report having received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner’s office, London: "Trade is very slow at present, owing to American 1 Gravenstein and English apples now coming on the market. Current prices for fruit ex store are: Sturraere, 10s 6d to 12s, Doughertys, Roke woods and Statesmen, 11s to 3 4s; Grannie Smith, ■ 12s to 15s. A small quantity is not stored, and the remainder are selling slowly at lower prices."
