WINTER SHOW SHOULD PROVE BIG ATTRACTION
All Canterbury, his wife his family and his visitors will attend the Winter Show this season. It opens on Saturday, August S. in the King Edward Barracks, and is assured of the greatest success since its inauguration. Every available space for exhibits has long since been taken, and exhibitors are making displays that excel anything before attempted. Of special interest, at this stage in the economic affairs of the Dominion are the working exhibits of woollen goods, hosiery, ladies’ garments, gloves, brushes, Nugget boot polish and tins, domestic heating apparatus, breakfast products Vale’s automatic stoker, agricultural and pastoral model dairy, all the processes in the making and operation of which will be displayed for the public to see. No liner opportunity could be afforded for demonstrating that Dominion-made goods compare more than favourably in the essentials of quality and value with imported articles of a similar nature. Visitors would do well to stop and look and learn that these outstanding merits prove the definite economy- of purchasing the products of our home industries, and that public support obviously eases in no small degree the fretful question of unemployment, and is for the undeniable benefit of the whole community Visitors will also stop and look and listen to the highly amusing side shows and attractive entertainments that are being provided on a lavish scale for the greater enjoyment of what undoubtedly will be a particularly instructive and interesting exhibition.
