THREE NEGROES KILLED IN RIOT IN CHICAGO. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CHICAGO. August 3. In a clash between the police and a mob numbering 5000, led by Communists, three negroes were fatally shot and several others were seriously wounded. The trouble was precipitated when Communists who objected to the eviction of a woman from her home started moving the furniture back. . The arrest of the Communists by detectives set loose a spirit of anarchy. The masses swept forward against the detectives, who summoned police reserves. Some of the people in the crowd are reported to have used revolvers, knives and razors. Eventually the police, using clubs and pistols, forced the mob to retreat, leaving behind the three dead men.
