WALTHAM LIBRARY.
The monthly meeting of the Waltham Public Libary was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs A. Bonney (chairman), S. Moorcraft, A. Britton, E. Adams, H. Ward, M. Skinner, D. M’Kenzie, It. Woodward, A. Price, C. Copplestone, F. Topham, S. Jones, A. Howell and A. Stothers. A letter from the Town Clerk in reference to the reduction on the maximum grant on subscriptions was received. The committee, recognising the economic conditions generally, was of tiie opinion that the City Council had treated the library reasonably well. The matter of re-binding used books was considered, and It was decided that the secretary interview a bookbinding firm and report at next meeting. Mr Britton moved that Mr A. Price be elected an honorary life member of the library, in recognition of his valuable services. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr Price' suitably replied. The secretary reported having interviewed council officials regarding in- ( creased insurance on books and furniture. The membership had Increased nearly 50 per cent.
