MUSICAL AFTERNOON AT THE WOMEN’S CLUB.
The Canterbury Women’s Club’s musical parties that are held fortnightly are greatly appreciated by the members who invite their friends to enjoy the programmes provided. Yesterday Mrs T. D. Kendall arranged the particularly good programme and also acted as hostess. She and her daughter, Miss Vivienne Kendall, played pianoforte duets, “Russia,” “Hungary,” and “Spanish Dance, No. 4.” and Miss Belle Renaut was enthusiastically applauded for her singing of “A Song Remembered,” “Ah! How Pleasant ’tis to Love,” “None But An Aching Heart,” and “Here Lies the. Warmth of Summer.” Mrs Kendall played Nos. 1, 3 and 4 from Suite Mignon (Schutt) and Rondo (Hummel), after which Mrs Walter B. Harris sang charmingly “Skye Fisher’s Song” (Kennedy Fraser), “Cloths of Heaven” (Dunhill), “Trees’* (Rasbach), and “Lullaby” (Keel), Afternoon tea was provided.
