SOCIAL GATHERING.

Surprise Party. On Tuesday evening a surprise party visited Miss M. Jones at her home in Haast Street, on the occasion of her birthday. A pleasant evening was spent in games, items, competitions and dancing. Among those present were— Mr and Mrs Multrie, Mesdames Jones, Bowen, Robinson, Misses M. Jones, C. Jones, U. Laycock, G. Whittington, B. Owen, W. Ireland, G. Condon, E. Jeffreys, J. Wildey, L. Brown, M. White, Messrs Harvey, Oxenbridge, L. Jones, G. Jones, T. Smith, B. Bowen, C. Shand, T. Fisher, B. Jones, H. Ilobson, P. Bowen, R. Fuller and C. Malzard. Competitions were won by Miss E. Jeffreys, Miss J. Wildey, Mr Oxenbridge and Mr Ilobson. Mr L. Jones was M.C.
