LABOUR BALLOT FOR THE KAIAPOI SEAT.

MR HIRAM HUNTER MAY SEEK THE NOMINATION

Mr Hiram Hunter, a former member of the Christchurch City Council, is likely to be a candidate for the Labour Party’s selection ballot in the Kaiapoi electorate. At the election in 1919 Mr Hunter was an unsuccessful candidate for the Christchurch East seat, but since then he has not been a candidate for Parliamentary honours. It was suggested recently that he was likely to stand for Ilurunui in the Labour interests against the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon G. W. Forbes.

Nominations for the ballot close tonight. Already the nominations of Messrs 11. C. Revell and J. N. Ilarle and the Rev J. K. Archer have been received.
