ELLESMERE GUN CLUB HOLDS SPARROW MATCH

On its ground at Leeston the Ellesmere Gun Club held a .sparrow match for a trophy given by Mr L. <;. Lemon and two clay sweeps. Conditions wore favourable and there was a fair muster of competitors. The sparrow match (ten birds) result, ed as follows:—E. A. Washbourne (20yds) 9, T. Gordon (20yds) N. I>. L. M'Gregor (20yds) 8, S. M. Jackman (20yds) 7, S. Vince (19yds) 7, W. Winchester (2 ycls) 7 L. C. Lemon (20vds> 5, W. Quigley (18yds) 5, Y. M. Doyle (I.6yds) 5. R. W. Jackman (16yds) 4, W. Watson (16yds) 2. Washbourne, with 9 kills, took the trophy. A six-bird sweep resulted as follows: L. C. Lemon 5. S. Vince 5, T. Gordon «, E. A. Washbourne 4, W. Quigley 3, L.

L. M’Gregor 3, F. L. Graham 3, AV. Winchester 2, G. M. Doyle 2, W. I-lampton 2, S. M. Jackman 2. Those with live on divided the money. The scores in a nine-bird clay sweep were as follows: W.
