LINCOLN ROAD SOCIAL TO AID GIRL GUIDES.

Under the auspices of the Ladies’ Guild of St Martin’s Church, Lincoln Road, a fine entertainment was given for the purpose of raising funds for the newly-formed company of Girl Guides. The attendance was very good and the response, financially, was gratifying. Those assisting were: Mrs and Miss Borthwick, piano duet; Mrs Moore, Mrs Ansell, Miss Gregson, Miss Hazel Bqakes and Mr Smith, vocal solos: Miss R. Barrell and Mr Farrant, recitations; and Miss Sheila Bennetts, Highland dance. The Rev D. Rankin occupied the chair. Opportunity was taken to present the choir boys of the church with the prizes gained by them during the year. A competition resulted in Mrs Brady being the winner and Mrs Coote second. A dainty supper was served by the ladies and brought a very pleasant and successful evening to a close.
