PORT NEWS.
A farewell social was tendered Mr and Mrs E. Barraclough at Lyttelton on Monday evening by the members of the Holy Trinity Church. The social v.as held in the parish schoolroom and there was a large attendance. Several presentations were made to the guests of the evening, including one from the tiirls’ Bible Class, made by Mrs F. Knights; the Mothers’ Union, made by Mrs A. C. Purchas; and one from the i Girls’ Friendly Society, made bv Miss Thelma Lester. Mr Barraclough was presented with a suitcase. The Rev A. C. Purchas. in bidding the guests farewell. said that all would miss their services to the parish. Musical items were contributed by Miss Myra Sutton Mr and Mrs Barraclough and family will leave Xew Zealand for London, by the Rangitiki, which sails from Wellington on Saturday. Lyttelton Plunket Society. The annual meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket Society will be held at the VM CA Hall on Wednesday, June 24. After the general business and election of officers. Dr Lester will give an address.
