CARDINAL WAS TREATED LIKE COMMON CRIMINAL*

Apparently the Republican regime does not permit of courtesy either to grey hairs or the Primate and Prince of the Church,” said Cardinal Segura after his deportation. “ I fear that the present terrorism against the opponents of Republicanism and Socialism will produce irreligious courts, whose laws will tend to destroy the Catholic Church of Spain.” The Rome correspondent of ** The Times ” states that the Vatican has protested to Spain against the Cardinal’* expulsion.
