The members of the Christchurch Working Men’s Club Orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr A. G. Heath, gave a concert at the Mount Magdala Convent on Sunday. They were assisted by the following artists:—Miss Erin Matthews, Miss Ena Malzard, Messrs J. Young, B. Spicer, R. Stevens and A. Kitchingham. The orchestra and artists were entertained at afternoon tea under the supervision of Sister Theresa, who thanked them for their attendance. Mr J. E. Cooper, the president of the club, made reference to the absence of Mr G. Hayward, who had met with an accident, and who was generally responsible for the transport of the artists and members of the orchestra.
