OPOSSUM TRAPPING SEASON NOT PROMISING.

(Special to the “Star.”) HOKITIKA, June 17.

The opossum trapping season is not very promising this year, and it is generally agreed that a close season would have been best. Fewer than twenty trapping licenses have been issued and only about a score of permits, so trappers are evidently wise to the position.
