JUDGE’S COMMENT ON IMMIGRANT’S OFFENCE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 8. Among prisoners sentenced to-day was Valentine Rousham, aged twentyfive, who came to New Zealand a short time ago under the immigration scheme. He was sentenced to eighteen months for forgery. Counsel said the accused was an English public school boy and he had been incited to the offence by poverty. Mr Justice Smith said that the accused had two previous convictions and had indicated that he had a dishonest streak in his nature.
