Mrs Robert Malcolm, Park Terrace, returned yesterday from Wellington. Mr and Mrs R. Hudson (Dunedin) are guests at the United Service Hotel. Mrs M. K. Case (New York) is a guest at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs Stopford will leave Christchurch to-night for the north. Mrs Spencer, Christchurch, will leave ’ for Wellington to-night. Miss D. Allen is the guest of Mrs G. Eichelbaum, Fitzherbert Terrace, Wei- , lington. The lion A. S. and Mrs Malcolm arrived by the ferry steamer from the north 3-esterday. Mr and Mrs Walter Baxter, Bristol Street, returned to-day from a visit to Dunedin. Mrs J. Bathgate, St Andrew’s Square, who has been spending a holiday in Ashburton, has returned to Christchurch. Miss Sheelagh Gumbleton, Webb Street, and Miss Betty Baxter, Bristol Street, have left for a short holiday in Timaru. The latest arrivals at the Hotel Federal include Mr A. M’Kenzie, Mr C. A. Anderson (Auckland), Mr C. B. Pepper (Wellington). ' Canon E. D. Rice and Mrs Rice will leave Christchurch on Wednesday for Auckland, en route to Suva. They will sail by the Tofua, leaving on June 15. Mrs L. J. Bayfield, Rotorua, who has been the guest of Mrs J. M. Struthers, Murray Place, will leave for the north to-night. Mr and Mrs R. Nilsson (Auckland), Mr and Mrs A. E. Buchanan (Dunedin), Mrs B. 11. Oxlade (Auckland) and | Miss M. O'Grady (Timaru) are staging at the Royal Hotel. Recent guests at the Royal Hotel include Mr and Mrs A. E. Buchanan (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs R. Nilsson, Mrs B. 11. Oxlade (Auckland), Miss M. O’Grady (Timaru). Mrs G. E. M’Leod and Miss Alison M’Leod, Cashmere Hills, will leave tomorrow for the north, to sail by the Ulimaroa for Australia to spend some months in Brisbane. They expect to return to Christchurch in October. Miss E. Macdonald, until recently general secretary of the Y.W.C.A., Wellington, expects to sail for England on June 30. She has accepted a position on the staff cf the new Young Women’s Christian Association Central Club, off Tottenham Court Road. This club is in one of the latest and newest of London’s buildings and has an expert staff. Miss Macdonald was trained in Dunedin, and for four 3'ears was at the Y.W.C.A., S>'dney, where her ability as a worker made her many friends. Lately she has been in the Bay of Plenty visiting schools in connection with the Young Helpers’ League and Dr Barnado’s homes. At present Miss Macdonald is staying at “ Glen Aladale,” Mangamahu, but will return to Wellington for a few days before sailing. She will leave many friends in New Zealand who wish her every success in her new position.
