“ Old English ” continues to . dra wcrowded houses at' St James’ Theatre. One of the most popular modern magazine stories, “ Young Man of Manhattan/’ written by Katherine Brush, has been made into a talkie and meets with just as much success in theatredom as it did in the book world. This film, which will begin on Saturday at St James’ Theatre, is a lively, fastmoving story, full of interest, and exciting as only the ups and downs of the newspaper world can be. Claudette Colbert. one of the most talented of the later generation of rmftion picture actresses, has a particularly congenial role.* in “Young Man of Manhattan.” Her brilliant work opposite Maurice Chevalier in “The Big Pond” and the dramatic ability she displayed in “Manslaughter” definitely established her as a player of note, and her acting in her latest picture fuither enhances her re putation.
