ACTIVITIES WEST COAST. (Special to the “Star.”) WESTPORT, March 31. Air C. G. Curtis, representative of the Westport and District Branch of the Central Council of the Canterbury Automobile Association met the members of the local committee to discuss matters of interest to motorists. He explained that the association was trying to have the work on the Lewis Pass restarted. It was proposed to send one of the motor patrols to the West Coast soon after Easter to assist local secretaries in getting new members and collect subscriptions. The patrol would be at the service of all members of the association if they were in trouble on the road. Weekly Coal Shipments. The Westport Coal Company report for the week ending Marth 28:—Coal shipped, 4366 tons 9cwt; local sales, 112 tons 15cwt; coke, 39 tons loewt; total, 451 S tons 15cwt. Personals. Air J. C. Brown, district manager of the Westport Coal Company, has left on a business visit to Wellington. Miss Mollie Nelson, of Wellington, is visiting Afr and Airs Horace Greenwood. Mr Sherman Strachan has returned from a visit to Otago and Canterbury, via Wellington and Nelson. Aliss Olive Neighbours, of Waimangaroa, has returned from the North Island. . .
