STRANGE TALE OF LONG VOYAGE FROM NOUMEA,
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 1, noon) LONDON, March 31. The ship Ville de Verdun arrived at Marseilles' from Noumea after a voyage as full of incident, as a novel. Shortly after passing the Marquesas Islands, the quartermaster went insane and killed the captain with a pistol. Later two men were lost overboard, and then towards the end of the voyage an S.O.S. from the Italian steamer Ruta brought the Ville de Verdun rushing to the rescue of her crew.
