Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 31. Replying to a question by the Hon G. J. Garland, in the Legislative Council to-day, Sir Thomas Sidey said that in view Of the financial position the Government was not warranted in setting up a commission to inquire into the cost of fat stock, including beef, mutton, lamb, veal and pork and regulating retail prices of such staple foods. The machinery for inquiry existed and investigations were being conducted. The Council adjourned at 2.34 p.m. till Thursday.
